First of all, is there anything that google doesn't do?  Secondly, it has been a great tool for me in the past and will be even more beneficial now that I know more of its capabilities.  And last, I am so sick of google!
Google can be used to implement all the aspects of UDL and could be particularly effective in expression.   There are so many different avenues for students to express themselves, their interests, and the things they have learned.
The tools that are available through google encompass all six of the elements within the NETS*S. Google earth can be creative and innovative.  Google docs can be used for collaboration.  Google news, books and lit can be used for research.  Google forms can be used in critical thinking.  And they all need some level of digital citizenship and technological concepts to operate.

Classroom 2.0 Webinar

Here is the link to the webinar that I watched on Classroom 2.0.  The mobile learning allowed students to use the digital devices that they already have and are comfortable with using for learning.  I thought it was cool to have the kids bring home items to show their parents and also to bring things to school for show and tell.

Using mobile devices for learning in my field has been interesting and something I think we should do more often.  We have our players use an App that monitors the amount of sleep that they get each night.  Also for our players who are trying to gain or loose weight, they use a calorie counting App after each meal.  We also use an App for mass-texting the entire team daily schedules, which is very convenient.

This video I found on 2.0 was very cool and exemplifies the idea of a coach and motivation.

Thoughts and Reflections

Really enjoyed learning more about wiki's as I had no idea what they were.  I work in the Oregon athletic department for the men's basketball team, so I have been thinking about how we could use blogs or wiki's to help our student-athletes.  I thought about the options for using a wiki for our student-athlete development during the off-season.  Posting the players weekly schedules for class, weight-lifting program, and open gym.  Also posting reminders of things we need from the players or opportunities for work or volunteering during the week.  Posting nutrition tips and recipes to help our players with there diet.
